I.W.W. Songs: To Fan the Flames of Discontent.  The Industrial Workers of the World, which flourished in the first two decades of the 20th century, organized unskilled, foreign-born and minority workers in plants and industries neglected by the craft unions of the AF of L. The IWW became known for its widespread use of songs as an instrument in raising workers' spirits.
